It might seem early, but the 2013 Los Gatos Football season officially began on Monday, May 20th. For the last several weeks, returning players have been working very hard to prepare for the upcoming football season. The players’ regiment included 5 days a week in the weight room working on Strength, and 4 days a week on the field working on Speed and Agility. It was a very successful off-season for the Cats. Many players gained “PR’s” (personal records) during last week’s “Max Week”. Much thanks goes to the hard work of Strength Coach Joey Warren.
Monday begins actual “Spring Football” with the installation of the 2013 offensive and defensive schemes. The players are excited; the coaches are excited as well. Speaking of coaches, there will be some familiar faces on the Cats sideline this coming season including Heath Clark, Danny Sullivan, Andy Holland, Joe Farwell, Dale Gustavson, among others. They will be joined by some new faces to LG, including Clint McCoy, Justin Stenger, Kevin Krail, Mike Jones, Jim Polanco, John Lapava, Andy Watson, and Greg Bernarding, among others.
As the head coach, I could not be happier about the staff that has come together for 2013. It is great mix of coaches that will work together with one thing in mind: a successful experience for the players!
Much work lies ahead, and the players and coaches are ready to take on the challenge of continuing the great tradition that is Los Gatos Football.
Here’s to 2013!
