Notable Achievements
Sam has played football all 4 years at Los Gatos High School. In 2006 he impressed his coaches quickly as a freshman. As a sophmore he earned the starting Quarterback role and led his team to a De Anza JV League Championship.
- 2007 - Offensive Player of the Year
- 2007 - Named All-League, De Anza Athletic League
- 2008 - Season highlight: Emotional CCS Medium School Varsity Championship game against Palo Alto 5 days after the death of teammate Mike Halpin. Sam put the game away with an interception with 1:46 on the clock in a come from behind victory 29-23.
- 2009 - Named Varsity Team Captain. Starting Wide Receiver and Starting Free Safety, in addition to back-up QB duties.
